The traditional culture from the Alifuru originates from the fog covered mountains on Seram. These mountains are considered holy places and each of them has its own mythological spiritual story.

As an example, mountain Nunusaku is seen as a fountainhead of life and death. Fertility of people, animals and plants are the most important in the culture. On Seram, people believe fertility is closely connected to the thought that life originates from death.
